Historical Villa for Weddings in Tuscany

Borgo Bucciano: our history

Since the submission to Florence in 1370, the territory of San Miniato had become an area of expansion for the families of the dominant city.

During the same time, however, a group of local families also emerged. They found, even through local religious authority, a new balance with the vicars, the political-military representatives of Florence.

In the early 1600s in the ancient village of Bucciano, near San Miniato, it was born the historic Villa of Borgo Bucciano.
The owner was Baccio Morali, a member of one of the aristocrats of San Miniato.

Borgo Bucciano is located in Tuscany, between Pisa and Florence and hosts a beautiful historical Villa for Weddings and Events.

The Wedding Villa dates back to the 17th century and houses elegant internal halls, an Italian style garden and a beautiful panoramic terrace. Each location of the Villa can be set up to host Destination Weddings in Tuscany.

The elegance of the historic Villa and the beauty of the Tuscan countryside make every Wedding unforgettable.
The "casa ad uso villa", as described in the historical documents, has been for years the subject of controversies related to the inheritance of the sons of Morali, Ranieri Antonio and Persio.

In 1910, after several successions, another illustrious owner, Alfonso Lorenzelli, bought the Villa and the surrounding land, even thanks to his 18 years old wife's dowry.

This aristocratic coming from Bologna, got a small empire that became the summer residence of all of the family, including the Cardinal Benedetto Lorenzelli, Archbishop of Lucca. He commissioned the private chapel that you can admire today, visiting the intimate Italian style garden.

After being the house of parties and celebrations of this family, the historic Villa has been abandoned for years, waiting for someone to bring it back to shine!
This ancient property was then bought by the Bianchi family, in the Nineties, and today it looks like a charming and welcoming village where to get married, enjoying the history of the place and the sweet silence of Tuscan hills.

The historic residence today

A 17th century Villa, a historic residence located in the medieval village of Bucciano, a few kilometers from San Miniato.
The historic Villa is the perfect location to host your wedding in Tuscany.

The ancient Borgo hosts outdoor spaces such as gardens, olive groves and a swimming pool with Jacuzzi.
This historic wedding location also offers the possibility of celebrating religious weddings thanks to the neo-gothic style chapel.

The ancient chapel is located in the Italian-style garden. The panoramic terrace overlooking the garden is the ideal place to enjoy the wedding banquet.

The wedding Villa also offers cozy indoor rooms in case of bad weather, located on the ground floor.
Each room is characterized by a decorated ceiling, classic-style chandeliers and furnishings that respect the history of the property. The Villa for weddings also houses the ancient kitchens where today, as in the past, the delicacies of the local cuisine are cooked.

In the historic Fattoria of the Borgo, 10 apartments have been built which still retain the original ceilings. The bride and groom's suite, on the other hand, was built in the ancient stables but maintains a unique charm.

AnneMarie & Adrian from Irland to...Borgo Bucciano

AnneMarie & Adrian are a beautiful Irish couple and they were looking for a historic location for their destination wedding in Tuscany.

After learning about the history of the Villa and seeing the photos of weddings celebrated at Borgo Bucciano in the past, they had no hesitation booking it even before their first visit.

The reasons for this choice were many:
the stunning Tuscan countryside, the proximity to a number of airports for their guests traveling, the excellent accommodation on site and above all the uniqueness of the place and its history that gives it a timeless charm.
For their wedding in Tuscany AnneMarie and Adrian dreamed of getting married in the same place once used by illustrious families to celebrate important moments.

One of the things they really appreciated was the style of the Villa and its indoor rooms, finely decorated to preserve their historic beauty. Right here AnneMarie and her bridesmaids got ready for the wedding.
The ceremony took place in the historic church of the Santissimo Crocifisso, located in San Miniato.

The church was built between 1705 and 1718, on a project by Antonio Maria Ferri, to house a 13th century wooden crucifix believed to be miraculous.

The Greek cross building stands in the space between the Rocca, the cathedral and the town hall, to which the church is connected by a scenic staircase.

While the external decoration is very sober, the internal walls are completely frescoed.
After the wedding ceremony they had a fabulous reception of aperitif set out by the pool and a rich wedding dinner on the balcony of the Villa.

“Borgo Bucciano made our wedding day and the days before and after so special, this place and the surroundings will always have a special place in our hearts – thank you Borgo Bucciano!” - AnneMarie said.
