Beautiful Wedding Location - Ciaran from Ireland
Attended Bucciano for our daughter´s wedding in July. Beautiful Wedding location with outstanding views of some of the Tuscany area as the Villa/Apartment complex is very high up in the countryside. Comfortably catered for 80 with approximately 40 staying in the venue. Plenty of accommodation available in two hotels nearby in San Miniato, itself a beautiful village/small town with numerous historic sites/churches.
Its a quaint country villa type complex so don´t expect modern buildings etc. While the location seems remote at the same time its well less than 9k from San Miniato and we had a very good taxi service, same man for the entire week, nearly kept him going full time......Buses hired to bring guests back from Church after the wedding and again for guests returning to San Miniato after the festivities at the Villa. Just a note for all those hiring cars the Villa is at the top of a very high and steep hilly area with the road leading up to it very narrow and winding so quite dangerous.
Advisable to buy supplies for the Apartments in San Miniato Supermarkets as not much close to the Villa.
Wedding in Tuscany - "RedHands" from Ireland
Myself, my new wife and 50 of our closest family and friends travelled to Borgo Bucciano for our wedding. We had an absolutely wonderful time. We visited a year before for only one night and decided this was the place we wanted to get married in. We stayed here with all our friends for one week, where we booked out all the rooms and had the place entirely to ourselves.
Before arriving we were a little worried that it might not be as nice as we had hoped. But once we arrived, we were absolutely delighted with the venue.
After negociating the windy road to the top of the hill we came to Bucciano. Its just over half hours drive from Pisa, so the location is ideal. The Staff met us all and showed us all to our rooms. Everyone was amazed with the place and couldn´t believe the fantastic views from Bucciano.

The hotel, is really a collection of self-catering apartments, which together with some other apartments and private homes make up the hamlet of Bucciano. Its about 5 minutes to the closest shop in La Serra, and 10 minutes to the beautiful old town of San Miniato - which is fantastic to look around. A car is definately required!
We had the pool to ourselves, and some of our guests who stayed in adjoining apartments (not owed by the hotel) were free to use the pool too. [...]
We had our wedding party in the little square in the centre, and it truly was way beyond our expectations.

We are back from our honeymoon and everyone who was at Bucciano is still raving about it. The Staff were fantastic, and the newly refurbished villa was available to us on the wedding day.
I can´t believe more people haven´t reviewed this place!! I would throughly reccomend it to anyone wanting to explore Tuscany, but wants to experience the beautiful countryside. All in all a wonderful experience that will not be forgotten by all who were there.

P.S. - You gotta try breakfast - the best in all the places we stayed in Italy!
Amazing Wedding - Leanne from UK
In September, we stayed at Borgo Bucciano for our wedding along with 50 guests. The location was stunning, the accommodation was rustic and very comfortable, the grounds were well maintained, and the swimming pool was the icing on the cake. We had an absolutely fantastic five-night stay here. The villa far surpassed our expectations, and the hosts, were unbelievably helpful and ensured that all the guests had a fantastic time. We would thoroughly recommend the villa whether you are staying there are a couple or as a large group. Highly recommended!!!!!

After driving from Pisa airport we arrived at the impressive gates of Borgo Bucciano. The Staff met us at the top of the drive and helped us with our bags to our apartment. The apartment (Scuderia) was clean, air-conditioned, and had an incredible view of the rolling Tuscan hills.

The swimming pool is a really good size, and provided a great respite from the 35C heat. There were plenty of loungers, chairs, parasols and a couple of tables at the pool side.

The venue was the perfect setting for our wedding. The ceremony itself was held in San Miniato town hall. We then returned to the villa for prosecco and canapés in the garden. The meal was served on the first-floor terrace, and the dancing was held in the garden. There was also a courtyard where we had a BBQ one night. Thanks to weather, the setting, the food & wine, and the superb it was an unforgettable experience.
Amazing Staff - Fabulous View - Cilla from France
I stayed for a weekend in July to celebrate a friends wedding and couldn´t have been made to feel more welcome. The property was a delight to arrive at, having a country lane into the hills and then magnificent gates to continue your ascent to the property.
The swimming pool and jacuzzi was a good size and superbly maintained and the views from all around the property were spectacular.
Our apartment had a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen/dining/living room with table chairs, sofa etc and had 2 air-conditioning units, which were a great relief in the July 37* weather.
The breakfasts were magnificent and had not been changed due to the wedding.
Such flexible and relaxed an atmosphere we had to remember to get ready on the day!
And, a very short distance to San Miniato Town, a fabulous place to visit for historic buildings and good food.
Picturesque - Marlow from UK
Stayed at Borgo Bucciano in July for a wedding with about 30 people.
The site is quite remote and on top of a hill, so it is best reached by car, but the views are spectacular and it is very peaceful.
The Staff is lovely and cares about the needs of their guests and will endeavour to keep you well fed and watered. There is an on site bar, but you are welcome to bring your own food and drink too. Most rooms have a fridge freezer, microwave, hob and sink, as well as the much needed air conditioning.
The pool is clean, well maintained and at the deep end about 8 feet deep. There is also a jacuzzi which is the same temperature as the pool and toilet/shower/changing facilities underneath the pool. [...]
What dreams are made of - Lucy from UK
We returned to the UK today after staying here for our wedding. We married in the beautiful town hall in San Miniato and had our reception in the groundsfor Bucciano.

I cannot put into words just how amazing this place is. The views are magnificent, the swimming pool clean and refreshing, the property is beautiful, clean and very well maintained, the grounds are a Tuscan dream and the apartments have everything you need. I also cannot praise highly enough the owners who make this such a wonderful place to stay. They are really decent people and nothing is too much trouble. The food which Carla prepared (often at short notice and for large groups) was beyond delicious. The Staff went out of its way to make us feel welcome and at home, and they also made surprise contributions to support our wedding theme and make our day special.

We had a party of 34 in total including a 1 year old up to 70 something year olds and all had a lovely time and were accommodated with ease.

All of our guests were full of praise and many would love to return. We definitely intend to return. Borgo Bucciano is everything we expected from Tuscany.
A real Tuscan gem! - Natalie from Australia
I have just returned from a fabulous stay at this incredible venue. The rooms are a little rustic but perfect for what you need, a base away from the summer heat. The rooms had excellent air con, clean fresh bed linen and towels, the shower was pretty small in our room at the top of the house but the pressure was good. The owners were so welcoming and excellent hosts - nothing was too much trouble. The Staff (who speaks very good English) even helped us out when we had an issue with the car we had hired, sending us off to a local mechanic friend.
I was a guest at my brothers wedding here and it was a fantastic venue for such an event - incredible views and beautifully maintained grounds with a great pool that was always perfectly clean. There really is nothing I can say that is bad - I would recommend to friends to stay, both solo travelers looking for a quiet getaway, to families with kids who need a base to use when exploring the local Tuscan area. It´s not that easy to find though so make sure you print out a map or get directions from the Staff before setting off. Enjoy - this place is a real gem and I will definitely return one day.
P.s the breakfast that Carla makes is amazing, get stuck in to those fried eggs, simply divine!
Wonderful, warm and welcoming stay - Cherilyn from UK
Bucciano is run by members of the same family and they were super helpful and made our stay really spectacular.
Set in the Tuscan hills near San Miniato, the view on the way in and out is stunning but nothing compared to the one you enjoy when by the pool which looks out to olive groves on one side of the valley and the muntains on the other.
Very clean, fantastically and authentically decorated with originals features retained, the service and stay was impeccable.
We went out for a wedding but would absolutley stay there again for a week´s stay. Half-way between Pisa and Florence, this is a brilliant base from which to explore a rustic taste of Tuscany.
The Wedding Trip - "ArnsideRex" from UK
We recently attended our daughter´s wedding in July and the whole families on both sides stayed for anything between several days to a week on a bed & breakfast basis. We cannot express our delight at the warmth & hospitality of Carla & the Staff who made everyone´s stay so perfect. Nothing was too much trouble & the venue and catering was second to none. The accommodation is in self catering apartments which are air conditioned spacious and well furnished in a traditional style. On request Carla prepared excellent evening meals which were eaten outside on the terrace. The outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi were well used and there was the added bonus of the provision of towels. The setting being glorious with magnificent views over the surrounding countryside. A hired car is recommended with the small town of San Miniato 10 minutes drive away. We cannot recommend this venue enough and is perfect for either a wedding venue or individual holidays. We will certainly consider a return trip.
Another fantastic stay! - Roger from UK
We returned to Bucciano after having our wedding there. The owners were, as before, hugely welcoming and even hosted a lunch for us on the first day to properly welcome us, despite that the Staff stayed up until we arrived the night prior at midnight even ensuring we had a delicious light supper, Prosecco and red wine available - much needed after a delayed Easyjet flight into Pisa!
The apartment is very well furnished, the pool is fantastic and we enjoyed an awesome continental breakfast every morning, with the most incredible fried eggs! The views are extraordinary from Bucciano, as is the peace and quiet, and it´s ideally located. We went to San Gimignano one day, Florence is accessible both by car and train from San Miniato, and Lucca is only 40 minutes away. In all, a great base for either staying put and thoroughly relaxing or touring. The owner work so hard to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable and really will help with anything you need.
WOW WOW WOW - Neil from UK
We have just returned from our wedding at Borgo Bucciano. We had approx 40 guests staying over with us in Italy. The wedding was perfectly organised […] and every aspect of the trip exceeded our expectations. Some of the guests are already planning further family trips back to the villa next year!

The villa is situated on a beautiful hilltop with stunning views. The accommodation is traditional Italian style but extremely clean, comfortable and cool. The food is fantastic and they are even able to provide you with excellent red wine from their own vineyard (we are extremely fussy wine drinkers but the wine was very good and excellent value).

The highlight of our stay was the continued support and superb hospitality offered to us by the owners! Nothing was ever too much trouble. They continually go the extra mile and ensure that any stay with them will provide a lifetime of happy memories. We can´t thank them enough. They mentioned a saying that they have... "you arrive as guests but leave as friends". I can´t explain it any better.

This is a truly special place and so comfortable to stay at or hold a function. We can´t recommend it enough and wish the family the very best for the future.
Time of our Lives - Rebecca from UK
We have just returned from our wedding at Borgo Bucciano, well what can we say! We were there with our guests for five days, 22 adults and 9 children (1yr-8yrs). The owners and Staff made us all feel at home instantly.
The villa it´s self is set in the Tuscan hills 35 mins away from Pisa in the most beautiful location, green hills and panoramic views, you have to see it to believe it. The pictures on the website does not do this villa and the surrounds justice.
The villa was divided into apartments with their own kitchen and bathroom facilities, very simple but very traditional at the same time. There was plenty of room for all our guests, and we were made to feel at home again.
We opted for the Pizza and BBQ parties for our guests and the food was amazing, Mama Carla accommodated the fussy eaters by making delicious pasta which went down a treat!
Alessia ran the bar throughout the day/night and served the most amazing local red wine that we all enjoyed!
The pool was a welcome feature and the kids were never out of it, it was the perfect temperature on the hot days.
[…] The table settings and meal was beautifully presented and the staff were friendly and accommodating throughout the day. […] Our guests and us had the most amazing five days at Borgo Bucciano and we shall defiantly be back for a reunion!
Fantastic place, amazing scenery - "wolverine99" from UK
I stayed at Borgo Bucciano for 3 nights for a good friends wedding. It was a great place in an idyllic location, perfect for that special day. I found the staff to be so helpful throughout my stay, the room was spacious and had a nice balcony. Just a fantastic place, so chilled out there. It really made for such a fantastic special weekend, I was sad to leave.
A perfect setting for a rustic wedding! - Andrea from UK
We have not longed from our wedding at Borgo Bucciano where we had the most amazing time!

There were 35 adults and 5 children in total on the wedding day which went so smoothly and was really enjoyable for all […].

The villa and apartments are beautifully decorated in a rustic style and the surrounding are truly exquisite. The pool is an excellent size with Jacuzzi and our guests spent so much time relaxing here. The views from on top of the hill are spectacular and there are plenty of places to explore. I loved finding all the beautiful flowers and herbs in the garden grounds. Plus, our guests were in awe of all the fireflies at the rear of the chapel gardens...take a look at night and watch the magic happen!

The Staff worked so hard to make everyone feel welcome and even ran to supply umbrellas to guests arriving on the wet days. They accommodated our late request for tea one night and helped book taxi´s and a table for all guests at a local restaurant. The Pizza Party was excellent with plenty of food for all. It provided such a lovely atmosphere the night before the wedding...we have had lots of compliments from our guests! :)

I hope one day my husband and I can return to Borgo Bucciano to relive the happy memories made here!
Tuscan wedding fun! - Morgan from UK
The venue Borgo Bucciano provided the most stunning setting for our wedding weekend for 65 guests, and nothing was too much trouble for the owners. The celebrations started on Friday with fresh oven-baked pizzas in the courtyard which everyone has been RAVING about – it was the best pizza we’ve ever had. It was the perfect first night to start the wedding celebrations. We had the wedding the following day which was amazing. Everything about it was perfect: the ceremony on the terrace was so personal and the celebrant did a great job. The flowers were stunning too. The food was divine in particular the ravioli (again, the best we’ve ever had) and the Mille Feuille wedding cake. We also really loved the Bucciano wine which we had with dinner. After dinner, we all went into the courtyard to PARTY! The DJ was great and played all the songs we requested. We had a cocktail bar with mojitos, caipirinhas, etc and we were also given shot glasses with salt and lemon for our tequila! Everyone had a great time, and the party went on until 4am. The following day everyone had sore heads, and we had a relaxed chilled out day by the pool and then lunch in the courtyard. [...].

We had exactly what we wanted: a lovely fun wedding in the sunshine; with our friends and family; and with good food, wine and music. PERFETTO! We’ve had amazing feedback from our friends (“EPIC!”, “The best wedding ever”), so we are absolutely delighted. It was a magical weekend and we are already looking forward to going back for anniversaries.
What a stunning place for our friends to tie the knot - "MSW49" from UK
We were fortunate enough to be invited to our friends wedding here last week. They kept the venue a secret from us all, arranging for the 40 of us to travel by a private bus from Pisa airport so that we´d have the ´wow factor´ and this place certainly doesn´t disappoint. The settings, the views, the rooms, the food, and the Staff were all simply wonderful - they couldn´t have chosen a better venue. It even makes its own red and white wine which went down a treat throughout the weekend!

We had home cooked pizzas on the night before, which were the best I had during our stay in Italy. The meal following the wedding itself in San Miniato was fabulous, and then there was a beautiful BBQ on the Saturday evening before we departed the following day.

I couldn´t fault the villa or its staff, and would like to thank them again here on TripAdvisor for making Jayne & Andy´s wedding such a memorable one for us all!!
A preview of heaven - Alex from Norway
We got married at the villa after reading about the place by accident.
The reviews was so good so we decided to give it a try. We have no regrets.
We went down a few months before the wedding to see what it looked like and to see what we had spent our money on. It fulfilled every expectations.

First, the place is stunning. Just as rustic and romantic you would expect from an old Italian village. The place is so nicely done and with a spectacular view. Its also very quiet and relaxing. No noises that disturbs the peace you get here.

There are different apartments to rent, all with a small kitchen for making your own food. Its worth the try. Buy some food before you enter because its a long walk if you don´t have a car or take the cab. You can rent a bike, but the hills are steep. The staff will help you if you need any help. There are just beautiful people.

There is also a pool with a view over the valley for more relaxing.
The Staff is just incredible! So friendly, helpful and nice. Ask them anything and they will help you in any possible way.

The breakfast is good, but if Mama Carla is in the mood (she always is) you´ll get some tasteful surprise. We always did :-)

We had a wonderful wedding and we´ll never forget this place. We have already planned the next trip and recommend you to do the same. You will never regret it.

Best Regards
Alex and Cecilie
It was a fairytale - Isabel from UK
We had our wedding here and it was the most wonderful experience. Our friends and family all had a fantastic time and some described it as a fairytale.
Borgo Bucciano is within the most beautiful idyllic setting, the views are absolutely stunning. Our guests along with my husband and I had marvellous days by the pool before and after the wedding enjoying the Tuscan sunshine.
The setup is fantastic for a group wedding, the apartments are in typical Italian rustic, style, so don´t expect mod cons or powerful showers but you will have an abundance of charm! We loved that our guests could be together and we managed to extend the amount of guests we had on location by hiring 3 additional apartments within the residential area. […]. The Staff was super helpful and were happy to go and buy food items for us. […].
All in all we would wholeheartedly recommend Borgo Bucciano and we hope to return one day.
BELLISIMO - Jayne from UK
In July we had an amazing wedding at Borgo Bucciano, the most romantic, idyllic, breath taking and enchanting spot to have a wedding and feel totally relaxed – it is so charmingly peaceful. The views across the rolling hills are like the backdrop of a stage and absolutely perfect. San Miniato Town Hall is also stunning and just added to the rustic Italian experience.

The Staff worked tirelessly in 45º heat to make our stay so incredibly special. The best pizza’s, bbq and red wine ever. We were very sad to leave, we dream about it every day and want to do it all over again.

We have been reading some of the other testimonals on the website and all we agree with them all. None of us wanted the weekend to end, many of our guests have said “It’s the best wedding we’ve been to”, “Can we stay again next year”, “We could not have chosen a better venue”. We felt that we had just transported our life from the UK to San Miniato. We are already thinking of celebrating our 5th anniversary at Bucciano with as many of our guests as possible. We will all treasure our memories forever.

The words ‘Thank you’ are just not enough – AWESMOE GIORNI FELICI
Reliving our magnificient stay - "Philliesmama" from Pennsylvania
We booked Bucciano for our daughter´s wedding 6 years ago. We wanted to give the information to friends of ours who are looking for a place to stay. We had 40 people stay here for a July wedding. The setting was perfect and everyone went over the top to make us feel at home. Would love to go back sometime myself just to relive this paradise in Tuscany.
Amazing place for an amazing wedding! - Marta from UK
Our daughter married in this amazing place. Bride and groom reached San Miniato three days before the wedding. Borgo Bucciano is charming. The rooms complete with kitchen/dining room/living room. Big bathroom and bedroom.Had aircon and wifi. Patio areas, gardens and pool very spacious. Reception in the garden and lunch on the terrace covered with a canopy. Mama Carla is an excellent chef. Family staff were helpful and accomodating. In brief: awsome!
Magical Wedding Venue - Vivienne from UK
My son got married here […]. The villa is a superb location the setting magical everything from the food to the catering staff and the venue was excellent. I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding, can´t wait for the photos. Many thanks to the Staff for its help. I would love to visit again in the future and explore San Miniato.
